Specifically, it is to a website that chronicles the desire of a group of people to fix a problem by creating a really cool thing. And how they asked the public, via the interwebs, to fund them so that they could do the research necessary to determine whether or not they could actually do the thing they wanted to do. And how they got money. Lots of money. And how they then developed the thing they wanted to make.
These are ordinary people. And the thing they made is extraordinary.
